12:30 – 1:15 pm Give your Dashboard Real Insight – Multiple Measure Charting – Amy O’Neel, InfoSol Inc.

Dashboards are excellent analysis tools. Most of the dashboards we get involved in really become their own applications for viewing trends and discovering anomalies. Huge business value has come for our clients in collapsing multiple reports into a single easily readable and interactive dashboard or in promoting competition between teams for better scores or in simply in the marketing of displaying data in a more consumable way. Rarely, however, do users get real insight from the single measure result. In general, business managers have a sense of how things are trending and teams know which performs better. Real insight comes from finding out how one action affects another. This presentation will look at the reasons for redesigning dashboards for real insight. We will focus on multiple measure charting, discuss actionable KPIs, but we’ll also talk about some of the dangers of single measure results.

1:15 – 2:00 pm Visualize This! – Michael Ward, CTTS

Did you know that with nothing more than WebIntelligence v4.2 you can create more complex visualizations? In this presentation we will create a variety of chart and report blocks, then using nothing more than Input Controls and the new Linking Functionality, create some very slick interactive visualization. And all of this utilizing nothing more than WebIntelligence

02:00 – 2:15 pm Break

02:15 – 3:00 pm Best Practices with Promotion Manager – Amy O’Neel, InfoSol Inc.

This presentation was well received at our annual IBIS conference. With this presentation we will move beyond simply using promotion manager, but how to use it better. Many of these 12 suggestions come directly from the Promotion Manager development team at SAP. Technically, we will cover the command-line interface (CLI), version management, overrides and more!

03:00 – 3:45 pm Now You See Me, Now You Don’t! – Michael Ward, CTTS

In this live demo you will learn how to create multiple drill blocks and learn how to hide blocks dynamically based on drill bar selections. It includes using Advance Drilling Functionality in a way never envisioned. Watch as report blocks appear and disappear as you select various values from the drill bar drop down list. And all of this functionality using nothing more than WebIntelligence

Tuesday, January 10th at 10AM PT/1PM ET

Join us and expert Dashboard developer, Roxanne Pittman as we explore connecting BusinessObjects Dashboards to BusinessObjects reporting. One great option we have in our BusinessObjects tool belt is the use of the OpenDocument call to open a Webi or Crystal report from a URL link. We can use this tool in Xcelsius/SAP BO Dashboards as well to further expand the usability and drive action by adding a link from the dashboard to a Webi or Crystal report. In this session, Roxanne will demonstrate and discuss how to create a link from Dashboards to reports while also demonstrating the capability to pass parameters from the dashboard as prompts to the report, so that the detail report opens at just the right level of detail needed for complete analysis.

Roxanne is a Senior BI Consultant and has been with InfoSol for 9 years now. In addition to being a multi-certified instructor in reporting, universe and dashboard design, Roxanne has experience working with Fortune 500 companies as a consultant in the deployment of business intelligence solutions across the United States as well as in Europe, Australia and the Middle East.
