Baylor Scott& White Medical Center at Frisco is a center of excellence for Spine Surgeries, Hip and Knee replacements and patient care is of utmost importance. To be able to do that we depend on Analytics to provide near real time data that can be acted upon. This in turn helps improve patient service, patient satisfaction and quality of care. Join us in our journey of how patient care is intertwined with Analytics at various stages of scheduling, registering, tracking patients during hospital stay and monitoring the quality of care they received. Our Dashboards also assist the leadership team to monitor volume and revenue generating areas in the hospital. Our Analytics is powered by SAP, Meditech BCA, Tableau* and InfoBurst.   This presentation will discuss our various projects relating to the Analytics used here at Baylor.

It will include many of the new features of v4.2, including how to hide columns, blocks and sections.  Learn how to apply conditional formatting to a Master Detail Blocks at different levels to give reports a more dashboard like look.  Also learn how to apply the many reporting functions from the Analysis toolbar to Master Detail reports.  Topics will include how to place both a report and a chart in a Master Detail Report, and link those blocks together. SAP BO Dashboards (aka Xcelsius) along with Lumira will be phased out by SAP over the next few years as SAP focuses on its new Cloud based SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) platform which recently released its own dashboard capability. At the same time Web Intelligence has made major strides in offering dashboard functionality. SAP’s BI dashboarding strategy has been confusing for several years and many BusinessObjects customers have chosen to develop their BI dashboard in Tableau, Power BI or another tool or even create custom dashboards.  So what is the best choice for the BusinessObjects user?  This session will look at the pros and cons of the different options to help you make a more informed choice. Business Intelligence Dashboards remain the dominant way we deliver Business Intelligence applications. While a picture speaks a thousand words, a dashboard delivers a thousand visual insights. For the longest time, BusinessObjects Dashboards (Xcelsius) dominated and is still prevalent with its HTML5 runtime. Web Intelligence is improving its dashboard capabilities with each new service pack and SAP is looking to develop new dashboard solutions in the cloud while many BusinessObjects customers have turned to Tableau, PowerBI and other BI data visualizations. BusinessObjects customers have a lot of choices and this session will discuss the pros and cons of each to help you both better understand and see the possibilities.

1:15 – 2:00 pm Advanced Formatting II – Michael Ward, CTTS

This presentation will provide an in-depth look at how to convert reports into other report types, with an emphasis on creating Master Detail Reports. It will include many of the new features of v4.2, including how to hide columns, blocks and sections.  The user will learn how to apply conditional formatting to a Master Detail Blocks at different levels to give reports a more dashboard like look.  An example of inserting a Stop light as part of conditional formatting will be included.   The user will also learn how to apply the many reporting functions from the Analysis toolbar to Master Detail reports.  Topics will include how to place both a report and a chart in a Master Detail Report, and link those blocks together. Navigating a Master Detail Report utilizing the map tab will also be covered.  The presentation will cover exporting a Master Detail Report to PDF and Excel.  All topics covered will be through live demonstrations of the product, as well as interactive sessions with the user.

More than 50% of existing BusinessObjects customers use at least one other BI tool in addition to the tools in BusinessObjects. Using the best tool for the job makes a lot of sense in today’s competitive and fast-changing business landscape and so this co-existence of different BI tools has become a reality. The most popular BI tool used with BusinessObjects is Tableau followed by Microsoft’s PowerBI. This session will talk about different use cases for using these tools with BusinessObjects as well as options for integrating them in order to leverage your BusinessObjects investment.

In this live demo you will learn how to create multiple drill blocks, and learn how to hide blocks dynamically based on drill bar selections. It includes using Advance Drilling Functionality in a way never envisioned.  Watch as report blocks appear and disappear as you select various values from the drill bar drop down list.  And all of this functionality using nothing more than WebIntelligence!
