With a few tricks and using a few new features of Information Design Tool (IDT) you can reduce maintenance costs dramatically! Having come across many reports that are just slightly different for different groups of users, we have developed a few tricks and methods to combine multiple reports into one that customize based on the user/receiver. Technically, we’ll cover user defined attributes, @aggregate_aware(), data-foundation and business-layer security settings, publications and more! 12:30 – 1:15 pm Give your Dashboard Real Insight – Multiple Measure Charting – Amy O’Neel, InfoSol Inc.
Dashboards are excellent analysis tools. Most of the dashboards we get involved in really become their own applications for viewing trends and discovering anomalies. Huge business value has come for our clients in collapsing multiple reports into a single easily readable and interactive dashboard or in promoting competition between teams for better scores or in simply in the marketing of displaying data in a more consumable way. Rarely, however, do users get real insight from the single measure result. In general, business managers have a sense of how things are trending and teams know which performs better. Real insight comes from finding out how one action affects another. This presentation will look at the reasons for redesigning dashboards for real insight. We will focus on multiple measure charting, discuss actionable KPIs, but we’ll also talk about some of the dangers of single measure results.

While moving from SAP Dashboards flash–based solution to an HTML5 solution; issues surfaced around securing access to the data provided to those as well as access to those dashboards. This presentation is a case study in finding a non-obtrusive and low maintenance solution to security for internal and external customers’ access to dashboards.

02:15 – 3:00 pm Concept to Design for Dashboards in 60 Minutes – Amy O’Neel, InfoSol Inc.
For this presentation we’re going to build a dashboard design for a fake company starting from concept to design. Pretending like we are starting like most projects with meeting with a team wanting to convey information and the idea is to have the visual concept worked out in that first meeting using wireframing via SAP Dashboards as a more realistic display than whiteboards. This will be fun and interactive so play along and join in!

In this live demo you will learn how to create multiple drill blocks and learn how to hide blocks dynamically based on drill bar selections. It includes using Advance Drilling Functionality in a way never envisioned. Watch as report blocks appear and disappear as you select various values from the drill bar drop down list. And all of this functionality using nothing more than WebIntelligence
