While there has been much hype about alternative solutions replacing it, a remarkable resurgence in its usage by both existing and new organizations has occurred instead. The BusinessObjects force has reawakened!

InfoSol CEO, Paul J. Grill, will share his unique insights and entertaining stories on what has been happening in the SAP BusinessObjects universe in the last year , and how the Force is being harnessed for the greater good…. the saga continues!

This presentation will be a live demo highlighting the many new features of both 4.1 and v4.2.  Topics to include:  Excel and Free Hand SQL as a data provider, Large numbers, grouping, Input Control enhancements, Prompt Variants, Grouped Input Controls, Shared Elements, Referencing, Calculation enhancements, Concurrent processing of queries, and merging on local variables.  It will also include new features in the IDT.  Changes within the service packs will also be addressed.

Following the phenomenal success of “The Seven Deadly Sins of Dashboard Design”, BI Dashboard Evangelist, Paul Grill, shifts the focus to highlighting some remarkable BI dashboards – how they came about, the impact they had and the people that made them happen. The engagement of the business user is critical to both the success and user adoption of any BI solution. In the case studies covered, the users play critical roles in the idea, the design and the result and will show the importance of best practices in making the user experience the number one priority. The examples will range from an analysis of hospital patient flow to saving the world’s remaining tiger population.

This presentation will be a live demo of how to add multiple data providers to a document. New data provider types will also be covered, including Excel and Free Hand SQL.  It will include an in-depth look at merging, and the various options associated with merging.  It will also include a section on the various uses of Excel files in WebIntelligence document.  The presentation It will include tips and tricks and best practices.

An increasing number of organizations using BusinessObjects are also using Tableau both for data discovery and data visualization solutions. Many would like to leverage their investment in their BusinessObjects deployment to automatically feed qualified data into Tableau. This fascinating presentation discusses some of the options now available for integrating your BusinessObjects content into Tableau.

BusinessObjects administration is often challenging both in the time it takes to perform critical administration functions and access to key data stored in the CMS. The 360 BO Administration suite has changed all that and both revolutionized and simplified the world of the BusinessObjects Administrator.

We will take a quick tour of the main 360 tools for security administration, automated backup and recovery, promotion management and version control, auditing and impact analysis and regression testing.
