What’s New in Dashboards 4.1
Intended Audience:
This module is intended for individuals who want to know what has changed since Xcelsius 2008 and what’s new in the latest and greatest version of SAP Dashboards (Xcelsius).
Prerequisites:
Experience with Xcelsius 2008 or SAP Dashboards 4.0.
Synopsis:
This course is designed to provide experienced dashboard attendees with an overview of the changes to the dashboard tool we know and love as Xcelsius. There have been many changes since the Xcelsius 2008 version to the current version; we will discuss the new features and best practices to make to most use of them.

How to Move From Basic to Visually Compelling Dashboards
Intended Audience:
This module is intended for the Novice to Experienced dashboard developers who want to move beyond the basics of ‘now I know how to connect a chart’ to ‘how to put it all together to look amazing’
Prerequisites:
Novice to Experienced dashboard developers with Xcelsius 2008 or Dashboards 4.x
Synopsis:
This module is intended to show attendees the techniques that are common to awesome dashboards. We will discuss how to help the business visualize KPI’s, best dashboard layout concepts, and best components to use. Then we will critique several existing dashboards and discuss what works well, what distracts, what could be improved and what has impact and draw.

Dashboard Data Filtering
Intended Audience:
This module is intended for the Novice to Experienced dashboard developers who wish to expand their knowledge on filtering data in the Excel model of Dashboards.
Prerequisites:
Novice to Experienced dashboard developers with Xcelsius 2008 or Dashboards 4.x
Synopsis:
This module is intended to show how to create Cascading Filters in Dashboards 4.x using the ‘Filtered Row’ option available in many selectors. We will also how to make use of hidden filters to move data behind the scene.

Tuesday, June 23rd – Modules 1-4
Cool Visualizations and Charting Outside the Box
Intended Audience:
This module is intended for Novice to Experienced dashboard developers who are ready to move beyond the basic charts to advanced techniques to achieve web-type visualizations and infographics.
Prerequisites:
Novice to Experienced dashboard developers with Xcelsius 2008 or Dashboards 4.x
Synopsis:
Stretching the boundaries of Dashboards with some cool visualization tricks, this hands-on class will be taking Dashboard components and using them in creative ways to achieve customized charting, infographics and advanced navigation methods – without 3rd party components. We will also expand your toolset by showing some very helpful 3rd party components.

Tuesday June 23rd – Modules 5 & 6
Data Optimization
Intended Audience:
This module is intended for Novice to Experienced dashboard developers who need to master the basics of Excel for Dashboards, and who want tips on performance tuning a large dashboard
Prerequisites:
Novice to Experienced dashboard developers with Xcelsius 2008 or Dashboards 4.x
Synopsis:
This module will be covering the 5 most used Excel functions when creating Dashboards with hands-on exercises to go through as well as learn what functions to avoid. The second half of this module will be spent on understanding ways to improve the performance of a dashboard, especially large dashboards or large data sets.

Wednesday, June 24th – Modules 1 & 2
Dashboard Connectivity Options
Intended Audience:
This module is intended for Experienced dashboard developers who want to understand and gain some experience with the various options for connecting Dashboards to Data from BusinessObjects or even directly from databases.
Prerequisites:
Experienced dashboard developers with Xcelsius 2008 or Dashboards 4.x
Synopsis:
There are many ways to load data from BusinessObjects and databases into SAP Dashboards. This course will give users an opportunity to learn the advantages and disadvantages of each of the following methods as well as hands-on exercises for: Query Browser, Query As a Web Service (QaaWS), BI Web Services (BIWS) and InfoBurst

Wednesday, June 24th – Modules 3 & 4
Mobility Options Module
Intended Audience:
This module is intended for Novice to Experienced dashboard developers who want to learn more about the latest mobility options with SAP Dashboards.
Prerequisites:
Novice to Experienced dashboard developers with Xcelsius 2008 or Dashboards 4.x
Synopsis:
This module will cover the latest options in native HTML5 dashboards from SAP Dashboards. We will also discuss 3rd party options for mobile dashboards and have hands-on exercises for taking an SAP Dashboard and mobilizing it in HTML5.

Wednesday, June 24th – Modules 5 & 6
Dashboard Challenge
Intended Audience:
This module is intended for Novice to Experienced dashboard developers who are ready to apply concepts they’ve learned during the preceding days at IBIS to create their own dashboard.
Prerequisites:
Novice to Experienced dashboard developers with Xcelsius 2008 or Dashboards 4.x
Synopsis:
The final module will be a challenge for the dashboard developer to take a set of requirements and data give by the instructors to create their own dashboard, applying concepts and tools they’ve learned at IBIS.
